Description Lizards differ from other amphibians in that they have dry scaly skin. The Xan would tan the skins by various processes, using it, among other things, for decorating book covers. Later on, the properties found in lizard skin were used to develop waterproof materials, because they noticed how any liquid that came into contact with the lizard skin would simply slide off. JOBE scientists believe this technology to be far less advanced than anything they would use, but acknowledge the Xan society as 'a culture that had its moments of glory'.
